
Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya– The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), through the presence of Atty. Juan Victor R. Llamas, Undersecretary for External, Legal, and Legislative Affairs, proudly supports the launch of the Nueva Vizcaya Emergency 911 Hotline. This milestone marks the first localized 911 hotline in Region 2, enhancing the province's emergency response capabilities.
The launching event last May 17, 2024, held at the Ammungan Hall, Capitol Compound, was attended by other DILG officials, including DILG Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Director Catherine G. Allam-Miranda, CESE, Program Manager Melania M. Seangoy, and LGOO II Keith Clarence R. Bunagan.
The initiative was proudly presented by Acting Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer (PDRRMO) King Webster Balaw-ing, who highlighted the province's commitment to ensuring prompt response to emergencies.
Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito emphasized the significant benefits of the 911 hotline for the people of Nueva Vizcaya, stating, "The establishment of this emergency hotline is a crucial step towards safeguarding the welfare of our citizens. It ensures that help is just a call away in times of crisis."
The event also saw the presence of the Sangguninang Panlalawigan, led by Vice Governor Eufemia A. Dacayo, and Executive Director of the Emergency 911 National Office, Francis Fajardo. Their participation underscores the collaborative effort and shared vision of various government sectors in enhancing public safety and emergency management in the province.
Usec. Atty. Llamas reiterated DILG's support for local initiatives aimed at improving public service and safety. "The Nueva Vizcaya Emergency 911 Hotline is a testament to the province's proactive stance in disaster preparedness and response. The DILG is committed to supporting such initiatives that prioritize the safety and well-being of our citizens."
The launch of the 911 hotline is expected to significantly improve emergency response times and coordination among local agencies, providing the residents of Nueva Vizcaya with a reliable and efficient means of seeking immediate assistance during emergencies.
