The two-day training was attended by Civil Society Organization (CSO) representatives, LPMC members, and DILG Field Officers from seven selected Local Government Units (LGUs) in the region. The seven LGUs are Ambaguio, Nueva Vizcaya; Mallig, Isabela; Sta. Maria, Isabela; Iguig, Cagayan; Gonzaga, Cagayan; Sta. Teresita, Cagayan; and Sto. Niño, Cagayan. Representatives from the Provincial PDMUs of Cagayan, Isabela, and Nueva Vizcaya were also in attendance during the activity.
Regional Director Agnes A. De Leon emphasized the importance of third-party involvement during project monitoring activities, particularly the involvement of CSOs. She stressed that the active participation of CSOs and LPMC members is crucial in the implementation of infrastructure projects, particularly water projects at the grassroots level, as it tends to create a domino effect in the community.
The two-day training involved a learning expedition at LGU Amulung, where the participants inspected a completed FY 2022 Financial Assistance to Local Government Unit (FALGU) Level III solar-powered water system with filtration at Dadda National High School. The participants inspected the completed projects and were required to present their findings as an application of the learnings acquired during the first day of training.
The participants had a courtesy call with Amulung Mayor Elpidio R. Rendon before proceeding to the site.
RPDMU Chief Atty. Rambo R. Tambauan delivered the closing remarks with emphasis on the importance and participation of LPMC members and non-engineers during project monitoring and inspection.
