CARIG SUR, TUGUEGARAO CITY - In a move toward strengthening its commitment to quality service delivery, the Department of the Interior and Local Government Region 2 (DILG R2) met with the Department of Trade and Industry Region 2 (DTI R2) to discuss the Philippine Quality Award (PQA) Regionalization Program on April 11, 2025, at DILG R2 Conference Hall.

The meeting was attended by Regional Director Agnes A. De Leon, CESO IV, Regional Focal Persons, and QMS Secretariat, and representatives from DTI R2, led by Division Chief Cheeza Leia C. Tagarino of Industry Development Division.

In her message, Director De Leon emphasized that the agency's drive for excellence is not motivated by awards, but by its desire to gain and sustain the trust of the public it serves. However, she is hopeful and grateful that DTI is here to guide and support the DILG in this endeavor.

Echoing this commitment, Division Chief Tagarino reaffirmed their office's willingness to assist DILG should it decide to participate in the PQA program.

Moreover, Mr. Reiner P. Cardenas, Head of Investment Promotion Unit of DTI, presented an overview of the PQA, including its criteria, application process, and timeline. He concluded the session by officially handing over the application form to DILG R2.

With DILG R2 identified as a potential nominee, the agency now considers taking part in the PQA Regionalization Program, with the application deadline set for April 15, 2025.
