
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region II successfully conducted a two-day audit for the FY 2025 Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) and the Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA) on April 7-8, 2025. This comprehensive activity aimed to assess the performance and compliance of various Local Government Units (LGUs) in promoting and protecting children’s rights within their communities.
In her opening message, RD Agnes A. De Leon delivered an inspiring message emphasizing the critical role of local councils in ensuring the welfare of children. The audit process involved the thorough assessment of the Provinces and ICC in the region including Santiago City, Isabela, Batanes, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, and Cagayan on the indicators of the LCPC and CFLGA. The team also shared insights, findings and recommendations for each LGU.
The Regional Inter- Agency Monitoring Task Force is composed of Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), National Nutrition Council (NNC), Regional Sub-Committee for the Welfare of Children (RSCWC) and a representative from Civil Society Organizations (CSOs).
