Twenty nine (29) barangays in the Province of Quirino were declared as drug-cleared and drug-free by the Regional Oversight Committee (ROC) in a ceremony conducted on March 9, 2018 at the People’s Gymnasium, Capitol Hills, Cabarroguis, Quirino.

DILG-Quirino initiated a three-day activity titled “Workshop on Enhancing the Value of Accountability on Locally-funded projects through Unified Efforts (WE VALUE)” on February 20-23, 2018 at Crown Hotel, Baguio City to improve the current local governance setting particularly project management and implementation in the province. The activity was tagged as the first capacity-building for members of the Project Monitoring Committee (PMC) in the region.

With the theme, “Spurring Development and Empowering Communities through Information,” DILG Region 2 was among the many agencies that joined the First National Information Convention held at SMX Convention Center, SM Lanang, Davao City last February 19-21, 2018.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Quirino facilitated the completion of the 2018-2022 Local Road Network Development Plan (LRNDP) of the Provincial Local Government Unit of Quirino in a series of activities called “Training-Workshop on Local Road Mapping” on December 6-7, 2017 at One Tagaytay Place Hotel Suites, Tagaytay City and “Seminar-Workshop on the Updating of the LRNDP” on December 11-12, 2017 at Camayan Beach and Resort, Subic, Zambales.

In 2003, the Department of the Interior and Local Government Region 02 launched the Local Government Unit Incentives and Awards (LGUIA) Program. From then onwards, performer-LGUs are conferred in recognition to their exemplary performance.

The MASA MASID (Mamamayang Ayaw Sa Anomalya, Mamamayang Ayaw Sa Iligal na Droga) Program promotes community involvement by urging the people to contribute in addressing problems on corruption, illegal drugs, criminality, violent extremism and other threats to peace and security down to its sources. The DILG having been tasked to implement the advocacy program of the MASA MASID Project and as head of the Advocacy Cluster of the Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD), through a series of activities, ensured that the project gets the widest dissemination to stakeholders.
