TUGUEGARAO CITY, CAGAYAN, March 16, 2021 – To capacitate untrained contact tracers in Region 2, the DILG Regional Office in collaboration with the Philippine National Police R02 and Department of Health R02, conducted an online training of trainers for Contact tracers on March 02, 2021 via Zoom platform.

The training was attended by DILG Provincial Focal Persons, City/ Municipal Local Government Operation Officers, Municipal Police Officers, Municipal Health Officers and other members of the contact tracing team in the LGUs. As an offshoot, a roll-out of this training shall be conducted to the CT who are still untrained as of the date.

LGCDD Chief Catherine G. Allam-Miranda highlighted the timeliness and importance of the training as the region has a significant number of untrained contact tracers. She also emphasized their roles as trainers in capacitating the CTs for effective contact training result.

The key topics that were discussed include important information about COVID-19, contact tracing, effective interview techniques, operational framework against COVID-19, and harmonized contact tracing report.

In his closing remarks, DILG Assistant Regional Director Elpidio A. Durwin expressed his gratitude to the resource persons from DOH, PNP and DILG-LGCDD for sharing their technical expertise about contact tracing.
