
ISABELA PROVINCIAL CAPITOL – The Isabela Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) Committee facilitated the provision of package of assistance to nine (9) former rebels (FRs) and two (2) receiving units on the 18th of April in the blue room of the provincial capitol building in the City of Ilagan, Isabela.
The DILG-administered assistance package amounting to P1, 623,688.63 is composed of immediate assistance worth P15,000.00/FR, awarded to both former regular NPAs and Militia ng Bayan; livelihood assistance worth P50,000.00/FR, given to former regular NPAs; firearms remunerations worth P671, 903.83, based on the kind, make and condition of the surrendered firearms; and a reintegration assistance worth P596, 784.80, given to receiving units (86th Infantry Battalion and 95th Infantry Battalion) for the accommodation and assistance to the FRs under their custody while their enrolment to the program is processed.
DILG-Isabela Provincial Director, Engr. Corazon D. Toribio, led the distribution of assistance to the beneficiaries and she expressed her appreciation to the FRs for making the right decision in returning to the folds of the law. She advised them to use the assistance they received to start anew and to to improve their lives. She likewise expressed her gratitude to the Provincial Government of Isabela led by Governor Rodolfo T. Albano, III and Vice Governor Faustino G. Dy, III for their all-out support to the program, as well as to the other members of the ECLIP Committee and reintegration units for their continuing assistance in the implementation of the program.
ECLIP is a comprehensive program which seeks to reintegrate FRs to the mainstream society by providing them complete package of assistance designed to respond to their needs and concerns. Qualified beneficiaries under this program are entitled to benefits, such as the DILG-administered package assistance, and other forms of assistance from different agencies and institutions.
