CABARROGUIS, QUIRINO – The Quirino Provincial Inter-Agency Monitoring Task Force (PIMTF) convened in the capital town of Cabarroguis on April 28, 2023 to audit the local Councils for the Protection of Children (MCPCs) of its component municipalities.

Serving as an umbrella organization in promoting child welfare as well as advocating for children’s rights, the local councils for the protection of children also formulates the local policies, ordinances, plans and other activities which shall uphold the best interest of children and will also ensure mainstreaming in the local development agenda.

The audit assessed the level of functionality of the MCPCs for the year 2022 by reviewing submitted documents and other pertinent means of verification, showing that 3 out 6 or 50% ofall MCPCs, namely Saguday, Diffun, and Maddela attained the Ideal level of functionality.

Comparing to the previous assessment for CY 2021, results showed the sincere effort of all MCPCs to upscale their performance as manifested in the substantial increase in their final ratings.

To elevate and maximize the potential of all LCPCs, the PIMTF, who are also members of the PCPC, crafted a working plan focused on providing technical assistance to identified areas where each of the council constantly fell short. This included a set of interventions that will improve the service delivery mechanisms for the promotion of children and youth welfare, and ultimately, improve the living conditions of every Kabataang Quirinian.

The PIMTF was composed of DILG Quirino Program Manager Blessing Grace G. Sagun (DILG representative), SWO II Lilibeth A. Sampaga (PSWDO representative), DMO IV Jomel A. Sugue (PPDO representative), Nutritionist Christopher Jay T. Cariaga (PNO representative), Dr. Marianne Beatrix S. Nicolas (PHO representative), and AO II Loreine B. Duenas (DepEd representative) and were assisted by LGOO V Carolyn C. Mateo and LGOO II John Lambert A. Pascual.
