The Local Government Unit of Saguday under the leadership of Mayor Jerry M. Pagbilao together with DILG Provincial Director Atty. Salvacion Z. Baccay and Cluster Head Michael E. Camacam formally unveiled the Construction of Multipurpose Building in a ceremonial blessing of site and groundbreaking last July 24, 2023.
The two storey multi-purpose building funded under FY 2022 Seal of Good Local Governance Incentive Fund (SGLGIF) will be erected at the Municipal Compound in Magsaysay, Saguday, Quirino. The said project is worth P 5,000,000.00 and was awarded to LGU Saguday for passing the 2022 SGLG Assessment.
During the ceremony, PD Baccay emphasized that the incentive fund is the fruit of persistence and dedication of LGU Saguday. She also expressed admiration for the LGU’s team work and diligence in serving the public as proof of their commitment as public servants. She also stressed that the SGLG is not just an incentive award but a testament of the LGU’s dedication and passion.
“Isang dokumento, isang pintig ng puso tungo sa pagmamahal natin sa bawat miyembro ng ating pamilya dito sa Munisipalidad ng Saguday,” she added further.
On the other hand, Mayor Jerry M. Pagbilao professed his heartfelt gratitude for the unwavering support of the National Government to LGUs. He also commended the effort, teamwork, and dedication of the local officials and functionaries, especially the legislative body. Finally, he challenged his team to surpass their performance in the last assessment and continue their perseverance in serving the public and promoting common good while aiming for another award for the succeeding years to come.
LGU Saguday has been conferred the Seal of Good Local Governance for six (6) consecutive years and has received funds from 2015 to 2022 that were used to implement development projects as an incentive for their consistent excellent performance.
Also present during the ceremony are the Sanggunian Bayan Members, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), representatives of the contractor, local functionaries and other stakeholders.
