MALLIG, ISABELA - The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Mallig, Isabela inaugurated its Public Transport Terminal funded under the Seal of Good Local Governance Incentive Fund (SGLGIF) at the Public Market Compound today, September 11, 2023.

After the ceremonial ribbon cutting and blessing of the transport terminal, MLGOO Alma M. Grande gave the rationale for the construction of the said project. She states that the public terminal will provide ease of access, convenience, and safety for commuters within the municipality.

RD De Leon praised LGU Mallig under Mayor Calderon’s leadership by stating that the public terminal is proof of the entire municipality’s excellence under his governance.

Regional Director Agnes A. De Leon of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 2 emphasized in her message that the intention for providing incentive funds to LGUs is to assist the President in achieving the Filipino aspiration by 2040 to achieve a prosperous middle-class society free of poverty. She also reaffirmed Mayor Calderon’s message that the construction of projects for the community is the realization of the platforms that he has promised for his constituents. RD De Leon also praised LGU Mallig under his leadership by stating that the public terminal is proof of the entire municipality’s excellence under his governance. She also encouraged all the functionaries present to collaborate with the Mayor in order for the LGU to continuously attain progress and development.

Municipal Mayor Jose Philip Calderon, CPA expressed that the completion of the Public Transport Terminal is through the collaboration of the Sangguniang Bayan Members, LGU Functionaries, and the local constituents in partnership with DILG. Mayor Calderon also acknowledged the DILG for the incentive fund granted to their LGU through SGLG. He states that the incentive fund is an affirmation for the LGU elective officials and employees for being effective public servants in the aspect of good local governance.

The SGLGIF is an institutionalized award, incentive, honor and recognition-based program that aims to boost LGUs' commitment to continuously progress and improve their performance along various governance areas.
