
Elated despite the pouring rain, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Alicia, Isabela proudly inaugurated the newly constructed Local Access Road along the perimeter of the One Alicia Market Place at Barangay Antonino which was made possible through the FY 2022 Seal of Good Local Governance Incentive Fund (SGLGIF) last November 8, 2023.

Toribio of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) commended LGU Alicia for its consistent success in achieving the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) which speaks volumes about the municipality's commitment to transparency, accountability, and effective local governance.

PD Toribio, in her address, highlighted the importance of balancing infrastructure development with social progress which are some of the considerations for being attaining SGLG. While applauding LGU Alicia's accomplishments in the realm of infrastructure, she urged them to keep a keen eye on the holistic development of their people. "While we do good on infra, let us not forget the social aspect of development for the community," she emphasized. “The Seal of Good Local Governance is not just a badge of honor; it is a reminder to continuously strive for both tangible and intangible improvements in the lives of our constituents.”

Alejandro, CPA, Municipal Mayor of Alicia, Isabela, extended his gratitude to the Technical Working Group for their concerted efforts in ensuring that the LGU maintains its status as a consistent SGLG passer. He emphasized the crucial role played by the incentive fund received through SGLG, which enabled the LGU to finance the concreting of a section of the perimeter road surrounding the One Alicia Market Place.
