The Local Government Unit of Sanchez Mira, Cagayan recently celebrated the inauguration of its Upgrading of Local Access Road funded through the 2022 Seal of Good Local Governance Incentive Fund (SGLGIF) with much enthusiasm and pride at Brgy. Narangtayan,Sanchez Mira last January 18, 2023. The event marked a significant milestone for the community, symbolizing not only their commitment to good governance but also the collaborative effort between local officials and constituents.

Assistant Regional Director Elpidio A. Durwin, CESO IV, emphasized that the reputation of the SGLG is not solely earned by the officials but is a result of the active participation and support of the constituents. He commended the people of Sanchez Mira for their unwavering dedication to good governance and community development.

"In the journey towards obtaining the Seal of Good Local Governance, it is essential to remember that the reputation is not built by officials alone. It is constructed through the continuous collaboration, hard work, and commitment of the entire community," ARD Durwin affirmed. "Sanchez Mira's achievement is a reflection of the synergy between local leaders and the constituents they serve."

Mayor Bagasin, in his keynote address during the SGLGIF Inauguration ceremony, underscored the value of humility in governance. He expressed gratitude for the collective dedication of the local government officials, employees, and most importantly, the community members. Bagasin emphasized that the SGLGIF project is not just about the present leadership but a legacy that belongs to everyone in Sanchez Mira.

"Today is not just about us, the officials who stand before you. It is about the humility to recognize that the success of the SGLGIF project is a shared victory," Mayor Bagasin stated. "The legacy we create today is not solely ours; it is a testament to the collaborative spirit of our town, where each member contributes to the growth and prosperity of Sanchez Mira."

The mayor went on to highlight the importance of humility in leadership, stressing that acknowledging the contributions of all stakeholders is crucial for sustained success. He urged everyone to view the SGLGIF not as an individual achievement but as a communal triumph, reflecting the unity and commitment of the entire town.

The SGLGIG is an institutionalized award, incentive, honor, and recognition-based program that aims to boost LGUs’ commitment to continuously progress and improve their performance along various governance areas.
