LGCDD Chief Maralli discusses the participation of the LGUs in the KADIWA program

Addressing the participants in behalf of Regional Director Agnes A. De Leon, LGCDD Chief Elsbeth T. Maralli highlighted provisions in DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2024-003 on the participation of LGUs in the program and its primary objective of supporting the farmers in selling their products and giving opportunities and product showcase platforms to local micro-entrepreneurs.

This strategy eliminates as many marketing layers, allowing producers to earn bigger from directly selling their produce instead of using trader-intermediaries and this scheme will allow LGUs to request from the DA to put-up KADIWA Retail Selling stores in their localities.

Previously, President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., announced that KADIWA outlets should be established in every barangay to help consumers buy basic necessities like food products at lower prices compared to those being sold in regular markets and stores.
