CITY OF ILAGAN, ISABELA, January 11 — Personnel of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Isabela learned skills in news and feature writing as part of the Office’s efforts to strengthen its internal capacity.

Assistant Regional Director Oliver T. Baccay of Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Region 02 discussed the concepts of news and feature writing to all DILG Isabela personnel during its Provincial Team Conference cum Strengthening of Isabela Local Governance Resource Center (LGRC), Action Planning and Knowledge Sharing for Better Operations for 2024 (SILAKBO 2024).

Baccay emphasized the importance of news and feature writing in the implementation of programs, projects and activities (PPAs) of the Department, especially in promoting and advocating for its PPAs.

“Mahalaga na ma-capture ninyo ang impact ng mga proyekto ninyo sa mga tao,” said Baccay.

SILAKBO is a capacity building initiative of DILG Isabela toward achieving the Department’s goal of becoming a Knowledge-Centric Organization through strengthening its LGRC.

Moreover, the activity is just one among the planned activities to be implemented this year for the DILG Isabela personnel to integrate in their roles the value of creating knowledge products through documentation of the accomplishments of the Department in line with the implementation of its PPAs as well as the success stories and best practices of the Local Government Units.
