CITY OF ILAGAN, ISABELA, February 2, 2024 – To effectively implement the 2023 Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA) in the Province of Isabela, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Isabela Provincial Office recently convened all City and Municipal Inter-Agency Monitoring Task Force (IMTF) members in a virtual meeting to orient the latter on the audit guidelines and its Knowledge Management System.
CFLGA Provincial Focal Person LGOO V Rhonalyn P. Maquinad-Casilla briefed the IMTF members on the guidelines of the 2023 CFLGA, focusing specifically on the four categories of rights and governance, taking into note that there were amended indicators.
LGOO II Ian Michael Pascual then provided the participants with a comprehensive overview of the Seal of the CFLG-KMS to equip attendees with the necessary skills to navigate the system during the audit process. He emphasized that the roles of each member of the IMTF are very crucial in operating the system as they will all be required to submit the assessment form through the SCFLG-KMS before it proceeds to provincial validation.
The activity also served as an avenue to address concerns from the IMTF members before the assessment which shall commence this February 2024.
The CFLGA is a results-based assessment instrument and an annual mandatory audit created to evaluate the effectiveness of local government units (LGUs) in putting policies in place and implementing initiatives to improve the welfare condition of children.
LGUs will be assessed based on the four (4) core rights of children (Survival, Development, Protection and Participation) and in the area of Governance.
