SANTA TERESITA, CAGAYAN - The Local Government Unit of Santa Teresita, Cagayan, proudly inaugurated its newly constructed Multi-Purpose Center on February 22, 2024. Situated in Barangay Centro East, the center is a testament to the LGU's commitment to serving the youth, women, and people with disabilities (PWD).

The construction of this significant facility, which houses offices dedicated to various social sectors, including youth, women, and PWDs, was made possible through the FY 2022 Seal of Good Local Governance Incentive Fund (SGLG-IF). With a contract amount of PhP 4,994,769.03, the center will benefit 3,988 individuals, encompassing children, youth, women, and persons with disabilities.

The inauguration coincided with the LGU's Namunit Ecotourism Festival, creating a joyous atmosphere filled with celebration and anticipation. Asst. Regional Director Elpidio A. Durwin, representing the Department of the Interior and Local Government - Region 2 (DILG), delivered an apt message praising the LGU for becoming a symbol of good governance. He acknowledged the pivotal role of the local government and challenged them to strive for the prestigious Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) award for 2024, emphasizing accountability and transparency.
