
VILLAVERDE, NUEVA VIZCAYA - Regional Director Agnes A. De Leon of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) headed the inauguration of the Bintawan River Wall Phase 2 project funded under FY 2022 Financial Assistance to Local Government Units (FALGU) at Villaverde, Nueva Vizcaya on March 6, 2024.

Camua-Ty, personnel from the Regional and Provincial Project Development and Management Unit (PDMU) of Region 2 and Nueva Vizcaya, Hon. Ronelie U. Valtoribio, Municipal Mayor, and other LGU Villaverde officials and functionaries, Barangay Bintawan Norte and Sur officials and residents also attended and participated during the inauguration.

RD De Leon congratulated the Municipality of Villaverde, under the leadership of Mayor Valtoribio, on the successful completion of the flood control project, which represented a major step towards enhancing the community's resilience. The project, as RD De Leon stated, can mitigate these dangers as a result of fortuitous events in order to benefit families, businesses, and the entire community while also ensuring the future is protected. Furthermore, she reiterated that the welfare and prosperity of the people constitute the fundamental nature of this undertaking.

PD Allam-Miranda also extended her felicitations, stating that this project will play an important role in the safety and security of the constituents, which is critical to the development and progress of the Municipality of Villaverde.

Mayor Valtoribio expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the DILG for ensuring the project's successful completion. She encouraged her constituents to love nature because their project is for future generations.
Hon. Rogelio J. Lorenzana, Hon. Crisanto T. Del Rosario Jr., Punong Barangay of Bintawan Sur and Bintawan Norte, respectively, thanked the DILG for the completed project, which is very beneficial to their daily lives.
The Bintawan River Wall Project will benefit two barangays, with a total number of 5,737 beneficiaries.
