
Solano, Nueva Vizcaya - The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Nueva Vizcaya, under the guidance of Provincial Director Catherine G. Allam-Miranda, CESE, played a pivotal role in the conduct of the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Utilization Conference cum Pre-Assessment for LGU Solano on March 12, 2024, at the Pasalubong Center, Solano, Nueva Vizcaya.
The event, spearheaded by Municipal Mayor Atty. Philip A. Dacayo, saw the active participation of various department heads and SGLG governance area focal persons from the municipality. Notable figures present included MLGOO Dave P. Escalante, who led the proceedings, alongside assistance from LGOO V James Daryll B. Liggayu, LGOO II Carla T. Dacanay, Engr. III Albert V. Guloy, and ADA IV Joel M. Pamittan.
The primary objective of the conference was to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of LGU Solano based on the official SGLG Governance Assessment Report (GAR). Understanding the status of the LGU's previous assessment provides a foundation for implementing proactive measures in preparation for the upcoming SGLG CY 2024 Assessment.
Following insightful presentations, a Pre-Assessment was conducted to evaluate the LGU's compliance status in select governance areas. This process aims to identify areas of improvement and refine strategies to enhance overall governance effectiveness.
Director Catherine G. Allam-Miranda emphasized the importance of these initiatives, stating that the SGLG Utilization Conference serves as a platform for LGUs to reflect on their performance, identify areas for improvement, and strategically plan their actions to achieve better governance outcomes.
