TUGUEGARAO CITY, CAGAYAN — Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Regional Office II conducted a Cervical Cancer Awareness Forum during its month-long National Women's Month celebration last March 20, 2024.

Assistant Regional Director Elpidio A. Durwin, CESO IV delivered his opening message by acknowledging all the attendees and shared that DILG R2 is under the leadership of a woman thus stressing the positive impact of women's leadership in this generation.

The forum aims to improve all DILG RO2 employees, especially the women, on their knowledge and understanding of Cervical Cancer which in return will help them in the future. Dr. Carla L. Dela Cruz, Obstetrician-Gynecologist underlined the importance of screening for early detection of HPV, having vaccinated to further build up immunity, and proper sex practices to lessen the chances of contracting HPV or other related diseases.

Chief Administrative Officer Ive B. Saludez extended her gratitude to Dr. Dela Cruz for having an engaging forum and reminded that women's empowerment through health awareness is a must.

Furthermore, the Department celebrates this program as one of the numerous initiatives by DILG RO2 in commemorating the 2024 National Women's Month.
