
TUGUEGARAO CITY - The City Government of Tuguegarao celebrated the completion of two locally-funded projects through a ribbon cutting and blessing ceremony on April 19, 2024.
The ribbon cutting was graced by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 2 Assistant Regional Director Elpidio A. Durwin, CLGOO Fernando T. Calabazaron with his technical staff, and representatives from the Regional and Provincial Project Development and Management Unit. The City Government of Tuguegarao led by Mayor Maila Rosario S. Ting-Que were also in attendance along with other City officials and functionaries.

The activity commenced at Linao East where a 273 sqm Multi-Purpose Center was funded through the FY 2022 Financial Assistance to Local Government Unit (FALGU). The team then moved to the City Hall Grounds for the ceremonial unveiling of marker of the FY 2022 Seal of Good Local Governance Incentive Fund (SGLG-IF) project which was a 275 sqm Multipurpose Building.

ARD Durwin highlighted in his message that the SGLG-IF is a reward for the City Government since it is the result of the employees’ and officials’ collective efforts, hard work, and talent. He further congratulated the City Government of Tuguegarao for implementing the two projects within its scheduled time frame. ARD Durwin also challenged the city to achieve the highly coveted SGLG for this year.

Mayor Ting-Que stressed that the said infrastructures is the culmination of all the hard work that everyone, including the city officials, has done for the city. She then elaborated that the completed buildings can be used for multiple purposes such as storage area for the city’s equipment and materials. Mayor Ting-Que then thanked the DILG for providing assistance to the city. She also stated that the City aims to reclaim the SGLG awards this year.
