BAGUIO CITY – In two (2) separate schools, a total of 30 more LGUs in the Cagayan Valley region have been oriented regarding the Operation L!STO – Disaster Preparedness Manuals on September 01-03 and September 15-17, 2024.

Facilitated through the Local Government Capability Development Division of DILG R2, the Operation L!STO has been building  competency of the created structures through various trainings for LGUs.

Previously, the manual just covers hydrometeorological hazards and localized weather disturbances, but have since evolved to include hazards from volcanic, geologic and emerging infectious diseases.

Among the resource speakers from the said activity are from partner agencies such as the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

In keeping with a proactive stance with an all-hazard approach emphasizing active local participation, DILG R2 endeavors to empower all concerned local officials and functionaries for effective disaster management and resilient communities
