
CITY OF CAUAYAN, ISABELA – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 2 recognized outstanding local government units (LGUs) in a ceremony for the Regional SubayBAYANI Awards held on November 25, 2024, at the Isabela Convention Center. The event celebrated the exemplary contributions of LGUs across the region in implementing and monitoring locally funded infrastructure projects.
The awarding ceremony was attended by Local Chief Executives and key officials from LGUs across the region, alongside their respective City and Municipal Local Government Operations Officers (C/MLGOOs). DILG Region 2 Regional Director Agnes A. De Leon, Assistant Regional Director Elpidio A. Durwin, Director Alfonso A. Maralli, Jr. of the Office of Project Development Services (OPDS), and various along with Provincial Directors: Engr. Corazon D. Toribio (Isabela), Engr. Maria Loida M. Urmatam (Cagayan), Catherine G. Allam-Miranda (Nueva Vizcaya), Marietta F. Abalus (OIC-Batanes), and Karen Joy C. Pablico-Castro (OIC-Quirino). Also present were Cluster Leaders, and staff constituting the Regional and Provincial Project Development and Management Units of the Cagayan Valley Region.
In his keynote address, Director Maralli emphasized that the SubayBAYANI Awards is not just a recognition program but a testament to DILG's commitment to promoting transparency, accountability, and good governance. He highlighted the role of these awards in strengthening communities through effective governance and infrastructure projects.
