Maddela Opens New Farm-to-Market Road

Despite rainy weather, the Municipality of Maddela, led by Mayor Rimel C. Tolentino, inaugurated its newly completed farm-to-market road along Villones Street, Barangay Sta. Maria, on February 3, 2025.

The road project, funded through the FY 2023 Seal of Good Local Governance Incentive Fund (SGLGIF) with PhP 1.8 million, spans 151 meters. It provides crucial access to agricultural production areas across four barangays: Balligui, Villa Sur, Villa Norte,
and Dumabao Norte. This development is expected to boost Maddela's business competitiveness and support local economic activities.

Saguday Eco-Tourism Park Gains New Cottages

The Municipality of Saguday, an eight-time SGLG awardee, utilized its incentive fund to construct two tourist cottages at the Saguday Eco-Tourism Park. These cottages feature separate comfort rooms and accessible railings at the entrance to accommodate persons with disabilities (PWDs).

Mayor Jerry M. Pagbilao, joined by local officials and functionaries, led the ribbon-cutting ceremony. The new amenities aim to enhance tourism experiences by offering comfortable lodging for visitors.

Diffun Lights Up with New Streetlights

In Diffun, 27 streetlights were installed around the perimeter of the new Local Government Center compound using SGLGIF. Mayor May G. Calaunan, along with local officials and functionaries, led the project’s inauguration.

The streetlights are expected to improve safety and security in the area, reflecting the LGU's continued commitment to public welfare.

DILG Regional Director Agnes A. De Leon, OIC-Provincial Director Karen Joy C. Pablico-Castro, Cluster Head Michael C. Camacam, and representatives from the Regional and Provincial Project Development and Management Unit (PDMU) attended the said project inaugurations, alongside Municipal Local Government Operations Officers Arceli S. Diaz of Maddela and Abraham C. Cariazo of Saguday.

RD De Leon lauded the local governments of Maddela, Saguday, and Diffun for their dedication to efficient public service. "Quirino continues to set a high standard in delivering government services," she stated. She also emphasized the importance of maintaining the quality of SGLG-funded projects and supporting LGU employees, who play a vital role in sustaining governance excellence.

The mayors of the three municipalities—Tolentino, Pagbilao, and Calaunan—expressed gratitude to the DILG for its support. They acknowledged the recognition as 2024 SGLG passers and pledged continued efforts toward good governance to provide a secure and comfortable life for their constituents.
