TUGUEGARAO CITY, CAGAYAN – in a bid to maintain its status as a drug-free workplace, the Department of the Interior and Local Government Region 2 (DILG R2) through the Finance and Administrative Division (FAD) and Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Division (LGMED) in partnership with Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office 2, held an orientation on the Drug-Free Workplace Program and Dangerous Drugs Board policy updates on July 5, 2021 via zoom online platform.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government Region 2 (DILG R2) through the Finance and Administrative Division – Personnel Section (PS) in coordination with DOH conducted a free back-to-back Tuberculosis (TB) and Human Immunodeficiency (HIV) Screening on July 16, 2021. This is one of the efforts of DOH to ensure early detection of the said diseases and raise awareness for such causes.

Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – In recognition of the notable accomplishments of local government units (LGUs) in updating the status of their Locally-Funded Project (LFPs) through the SubayBAYAN online monitoring system, DILG Region 2 conducted the ceremonial awarding of the 1st Semester Unang Bugso sa SubayBAYAN for top performing LGUs and Municipal Local Government Operations Officers (MLGOOs) on July 15, 2021 via Zoom online application. The island municipality of Calayan, Cagayan is this semester’s winner. MLGOO Razel P. Codamon and the Municipal Engineering Office of the same municipality virtually received the plaque of recognition for their outstanding performance.

CITY OF ILAGAN, ISABELA – On July 08, 2021, the DILG-Isabela provincial office oriented its field officers and concerned Local Government Unit (LGU) functionaries on the of Business Permits and Licensing System (BPLS) and Building Permit and Certificate of Occupancy (BPCO) online monitoring systems via Zoom teleconference.

NAGTIPUNAN, QUIRINO – the Local Government Unit of Nagtipunan under the leadership of Hon. Nieverose C. Meneses inaugurated its completed Locally-Funded Projects (LFPs) under FYs 2018 and 2019 Assistance to Municipalities (AM) Program on June 22, 2021.

PROVINCIAL CAPITOL, CITY OF ILAGAN, ISABELA – in a press conference, the Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) of Isabela headed by Governor Rodolfo T. Albano III, presented five (5) rebels lured out of armed struggle along with surrendered high powered firearms and explosives on July 7, 2021 at Balai, Provincial Capitol Compound.

DILG REGION 2, TUGUEGARAO CITY – On July 12, 2021, DILG R2 through the Finance and Administrative Division formally implemented its “SMART” program. Standing for “Support Mechanism in Addressing Restrictions in Times of the Global Pandemic/New Normal”, the program is a food sufficiency initiative patterned after the popular folk song Bahay Kubo. Conceptualized by Assistant Regional Director, Elpidio A. Durwin, it aims to ensure ample supply of safe and nutritious food for all DILG R2 personnel during the pandemic.

CABARROGUIS, QUIRINOFollowing the passage of the Ease of Doing Business (EODB) Law and the issuances of guidelines in streamlining initiatives in processing business permits, licenses, building permits and certificates of occupancy, DILG-Quirino provincial office oriented the different officials and functionaries of all municipalities in the province on the Business Permits and Licensing System (BPLS) and Building Permits and Certificates of Occupancy (BPCO) online monitoring systems via Zoom application on June 28, 2021.

 

CABARROGUIS, QUIRINO – In a brief ceremony held at the Provincial Capitol, Cabarroguis, Quirino, the Regional Inspection and Certification Team (RICT) conferred the Safety Seal to the Provincial Government of Quirino on July 8, 2021. Composed of the DILG, as team leader and members from the PNP, BFP, and BJMP, the RICT awarded the Safety Seal to Gov. Dakila Carlo E. Cua, who received the safety seal in behalf of the 12 offices of the provincial government.

TUGUEGARAO CITY, CAGAYAN – The COVID-19 situation in the region is unlikely to improve unless there is an effective rollout of vaccines that protect against severe disease and preferably drive herd immunity. Yet having licensed vaccines is not enough. They need to be properly allocated and available where needed, widely deployed in local communities, and most of all, administered. However, challenges to these efforts arise particularly on the latter, that is why the DILG Regional Office 2, through the Local Government Capability Development Division (LGCDD) initiated the Tara Na! Magpa-RESBAKUNA! - A Regional Forum on Vaccine Implementation in Region 2 on June 24, 2021 via Zoom and Facebook Live.

CABARROGUIS, QUIRINO - On June 11, 2021, the Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Unit (LGMEU) of DILG-Quirino convened the Provincial Management Coordinating Committee (PMCC) to discuss Safety Seal Certification Program via Zoom online platform.
