CITY OF CAUAYAN, ISABELA – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 2 recognized outstanding local government units (LGUs) in a ceremony for the Regional SubayBAYANI Awards held on November 25, 2024, at the Isabela Convention Center. The event celebrated the exemplary contributions of LGUs across the region in implementing and monitoring locally funded infrastructure projects.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 2 successfully held the second batch of its Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QAQC) Training Workshop for Local Roads at Seed Hotel, Buntun on November 19-22, 2024.

Today, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., accompanied by the Secretary of the Interior and Local Government and other Cabinet officials, visited three strategic areas in the Cagayan Valley Region: the Province of Nueva Vizcaya, the Municipality of Cabagan, and the City of Ilagan in the Province of Isabela. The visit aimed to distribute various forms of assistance and implement programs benefiting farmers, fisherfolk, and their families.

SAN AGUSTIN, ISABELA — The Local Government Unit of San Agustin formally held the blessing and turnover ceremony of its FY 2023 Seal of Good Local Government Incentive Fund (SGLGIF) Project on November 20, 2024.

Cauayan City, Isabela – The Department of the Interior and Local Government Region 2 launched the Barangay Information Management System (BIMS), a nationwide digital platform developed to modernize barangay governance. The rollout event, held on November 5, 2024, at the Hotel Sophia Function Hall, Boulevard Town Square in Cauayan City, Isabela, gathered over 226 barangay officials and secretaries from Region 2.

PROVINCE OF ISABELA – The local government units of San Guillermo and San Isidro have actively utilized their Local Government Support Funds (LGSF) and Seal of Good Local Governance Incentive Funds (SGLGIF) to enhance a range of essential public services, aiming to better meet the needs of their communities. These initiatives were ceremonially inaugurated on October 29, 2024.

BAGUIO CITY – As mandated per RA 9729 (Climate Change Act) and RA 10121 (DRRM Act) the Department of the Interior and Local Government Regional Office II (DILG R2) and the Local Government Academy (LGA) take an active role in Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) and Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) through the provision of capacity development programs leaning towards enhancing the capacity of Local Government Units (LGUs) to be at the forefront of the government’s initiative to adapt, mitigate and prepare for climate change and disasters.

Tuguegarao City, Cagayan — The Department of the Interior and Local Government Region 2 (DILG R2) recently hosted IGNITE: “Intervention to Bridge Gaps for a Nurturing Environment through Interpersonal Relationships and Team Development.” This program, conducted in two batches from October 14-18, 2024, was designed to elevate the interpersonal skills and foster stronger team dynamics among DILG R2 personnel.
